EightTwenty Review

Solar, battery, EV charger and solar structure installerBased in Oklahoma City, OklahomaProfile updated October 15, 2026

Is EightTwenty a good choice?

EightTwenty fits Oklahoma homeowners, and some in nearby states, who want a regional installer with its own install crews. It says it started in Oklahoma in 2021 and is owned by employees and local investors. It prints a contractor number for most states it serves. Its pages publish no warranty terms, no equipment brands and no lender. Get all three in writing before you sign.

Why choose EightTwenty, and why you might not

What EightTwenty does well, and where to be careful, compared with the installers it competes with most.

Reasons to choose EightTwenty

  • Its own crews do the installEightTwenty says its own crews put in each project. It says employees and local investors own the company.

  • It builds solar carports and pergolasBesides roof panels, it makes its own solar pergolas and carports. It also puts in batteries for backup power and EV chargers.

  • It shows contractor numbers for most statesIt prints a contractor number for most of its states. Its Texas license 41613 and Kentucky license were active when we checked in October 2026.

  • Owners say it fixes other companies’ systemsIts good reviews praise quick repairs of systems that other installers left behind, including lightning damage. Ask what a service visit costs.

Reasons to look at others

  • It lists no warranty at allEightTwenty publishes no warranty on the panels, on its own work, or for leaks where the panels are bolted to the roof. Stitt lists 5 years on its own work. Get every warranty in writing.

  • It names no equipment brandsEightTwenty names no panel, inverter or battery brands. Stitt and Cromwell at least name their batteries. Ask for the exact models in your written quote.

  • It does not name its lenderIt lists buying and a loan with no money down. It does not name the lender or the loan terms. Ask who you will pay, at what rate, and for how long.

  • Some licenses are not confirmedIts Oklahoma license number is not active: the state lists it as pending continuing-education hours. We found no Missouri record and no Arkansas license. Ask for the active license number in your state and check it.

EightTwenty reviews: what customers say

We found no Google or Trustpilot reviews for EightTwenty when we checked in October 2026. Ask the company for references from recent customers in your area.

How much does EightTwenty cost?

EightTwenty does not publish a system price on the pages we reviewed; it asks for a utility bill and then designs a system. Ask for an itemized quote showing the cash price, system size, equipment models and, if you finance, the lender, the financed total, APR and fees. For state price ranges, see our solar panel cost guide; for how the plans compare, see loans, leases and PPAs.

Purchase

You own it

You pay the full price. The company refers to customers who purchase a system.

Solar loan

You own it

The company says flexible solar loans with no money down are available. It does not name the lender or terms.

Plans as listed on EightTwenty’s homeowner page, read October 13, 2026. No lease or PPA is listed.

EightTwenty does not name panel, inverter or battery brands on the pages we read. It offers solar, battery storage for essential or whole-home backup, Level 2 EV chargers and its own solar pergolas and carports, and says its in-house crews install each project. Your written proposal should list the exact panel, inverter and battery models, the system size in kilowatts (kW) and the forecast yearly production in kilowatt-hours (kWh).

Where does EightTwenty operate, and which licenses were checked?

EightTwenty’s about page says it started in Oklahoma and expanded to Texas, Arkansas, Indiana and Kentucky. Its state pages say it serves Oklahoma from Oklahoma City (with a Tulsa phone line), Texas from Arlington, Indiana and Kentucky from Charlestown, Indiana, “select Wichita and Southern Kansas customers” from Oklahoma City and “select Joplin and SW Missouri customers” from Fayetteville (read October 13, 2026). A listed state does not mean every address qualifies or that EcoGen can connect you with EightTwenty there.

Licenses

We found 2 active license records in state registries (October 13, 2026, October 14, 2026). 3 published or listed licenses are expired or inactive in Kentucky, Oklahoma and Texas; see the records below. We found no record under its name in Missouri; ask for the license number. Kansas licenses this work through individuals or local permits, not a company license; ask for the license holder’s number. EightTwenty publishes license numbers for Indiana that we have not checked in the registry yet. Check the license yourself under the exact business name on your contract. A license check confirms registration, not workmanship quality.

How we researched this profile

We read EightTwenty’s own pages on October 13, 2026: homepage, homeowner, about, disclaimers, news and its state pages for Oklahoma, Texas, Indiana, Kentucky, Kansas and Missouri (the Arkansas page did not load). We did not check any license in a registry. On October 14, 2026 we also checked its Google Business listing, which shows the same Oklahoma City address and is not marked closed; its own site was behind a bot check that day, and the Oklahoma business registry was too. We did not buy a system, request a quote, visit an office or interview customers. EightTwenty did not review this page.

Our installer methodology explains what we check.
