It says it has installed solar since the 1980s and that its parent company was founded in 1982. Its pages publish no workmanship or roof-leak warranty and name no standard panel brand. Why choose Cromwell Solar, and why you might not
What Cromwell does well, and where to be careful, compared with the installers it competes with most.

It does batteries, generators and EV chargersCromwell puts in solar, home batteries, backup generators and EV chargers. Of the three alternatives below, only Shinnova also lists generators.
It has done solar for decadesCromwell says it has put in solar since the 1980s. It says its parent company started in 1982.
It names its battery brandsIts battery page names Tesla Powerwall, Enphase and FranklinWH. EightTwenty names no brands at all. Cromwell names no panel brand, so ask which panel your quote uses.

Reasons to look at others
It lists no warranty on its own workCromwell publishes no warranty on its own work and none for leaks where the panels are bolted to the roof. None of the three alternatives below publishes these either. Get every term in writing.

Its reviews do not show how it handles problemsWe found no negative reviews among those we read. That does not tell you how it handles problems. Ask who takes service calls after the install and how fast they respond.

The five positive reviews below praise careful, on-time crews and clear communication, covering an EV charger install, a battery expansion, a cracked panel replaced after a tree fell on the roof, and a system removed and reinstalled for a new roof. There were no negative reviews among the reviews we read. Positive reviews alone do not show how a company handles problems. Ask Cromwell who handles service calls after installation and how quickly it usually responds.

How we picked these: the five newest 5-star and the five newest 1- or 2-star reviews with written text on Google and Trustpilot, as of October 2026 (38 reviews read, back to Nov 20, 2023). We found no Trustpilot page for Cromwell Solar on October 12, 2026. Each quote is one sentence, word for word. Picking the highest and lowest ratings shows the range of experiences; it is not a representative sample, and we did not verify what reviewers describe.
How much does Cromwell Solar cost?

Cromwell has no solar warranty page. We read its residential solar page, battery page and FAQ on October 13, 2026. Your signed agreement decides what applies.
Cromwell’s FAQ says solar warranties can transfer to a new homeowner, but it does not say which warranties it issues itself.
Where does Cromwell Solar operate, and which licenses were checked?
Cromwell’s homepage says it installs in Kansas and Missouri, and its installation areas page names Topeka, Manhattan, Wichita, Olathe, Lawrence and Kansas City (read October 13, 2026). Licenses
Kansas licenses this work through individuals or local permits, not a company license; ask for the license holder’s number. Check the license yourself under the exact business name on your contract. A license check confirms registration, not workmanship quality.

- Kansas has no state-level contractor or electrical license. The 2026 Supplemental Note on HB 2588 (kslegislature.gov) says the bill ‘would transfer occupational licensing authority for electricians to the State Fire Marshal … from cities and counties’; the bill died (kslegislature.gov/li/b2025_26/measures/hb2588/), so licensing stays with cities and counties. No state registry to search for Cromwell Environmental, Inc. / Cromwell Solar (Lawrence); local license not checked.

How we researched this profile
We read Cromwell Solar’s own pages on October 13, 2026: homepage, about, residential solar, batteries, solar repair, FAQ, installation areas, contact and two cost and financing guides. We did not check any license in a registry. On October 14, 2026 we also checked its Google Business listing, which shows the same Lawrence address, and reread its battery products and city pages; they added no warranty or panel brand terms. We did not buy a system, request a quote, visit an office or interview customers. Cromwell Solar did not review this page.
Our installer methodology explains what we check.
