About EcoGen America
In Pennsylvania, One Rule Carries the Whole Return.
Pennsylvania gives solar owners none of the usual sweeteners. There is no state tax credit, no sales tax exemption, and no property tax break, and the federal 30% credit expired at the end of 2025.
What Pennsylvania does give you is the strongest version of net metering available. Under 52 Pa. Code § 75.13, every kilowatt-hour you export earns a full-retail, one-to-one credit, generation, transmission and distribution included.
Because the return runs almost entirely through that rule, two numbers decide your outcome: your utility’s rate, which ranges from 16.88 to 23.43¢ across the state’s seven major utilities, and whether your system is sized to your usage rather than your roof.
EcoGen America models both before you sign, matches you with installers who hold the registrations Pennsylvania actually requires, and checks your quote against real Pennsylvania pricing, including the sales tax and dealer fees a per-watt figure hides.
