What Venture Home does well, and where to be careful, compared with the installers it competes with most.
Reasons to choose Venture Home
It has a prepaid plan, tooYou can buy the panels, take a loan, rent them, or take a PPA (you pay for the power; the company owns the panels). Or you can pay once upfront with its prepaid plan. None of the three alternatives below lists one.
It names its equipment brandsVenture names Enphase and Tesla for its inverters and batteries. Trinity and Northeast Custom Solar name no brands, and we could not confirm Momentum’s. You can look up the equipment before a sales visit.
Its own staff do the workVenture says the people who design, install and service your system all work for Venture. It also says it can add a battery to a system it already put in.
Repairs are included if you rentVenture says its rent and PPA plans include insurance and cover all service and repair costs. Ask what is left out, and get it in writing.
Reasons to look at others
Its 25-year promise is not in its termsIts sales page promises 25 years of cover for the system and its own work. Its website terms leave that to your contract. Make sure the 25 years is written into yours.
No set warranty for roof leaksVenture lists no separate warranty for leaks where the panels are bolted to the roof. Ask who fixes a leak there, who pays, and for how long.
The prepaid plan leaves ownership unclearWith the prepaid plan, you pay once upfront and then make no monthly payments. Its pages do not say who owns the panels. Ask before you sign.
Some owners waited months to get turned onIts negative reviews describe two systems waiting months to be turned on by the power company. Others describe calls and emails with no answer. Ask who deals with the power company and how fast Venture calls back.

The five positive reviews below praise courteous, efficient install crews and good communication, and one owner reports three trouble-free years. The five negative reviews describe two systems waiting months to be switched on, unanswered calls and emails, repeated sales calls and a cancelled consultation. These are issues to ask about, not a measure of how often they happen. Ask Venture who manages utility approval and how quickly it returns service calls.
