Is Northeast Custom Solar a good choice?

Northeast Custom Solar fits homeowners in Connecticut and nearby New England states who want custom or off-grid systems, canopies or battery and generator backup. It prints two Connecticut license numbers in its site footer and says each system has a 25-year production guarantee. Its small site lists no street address, workmanship term or equipment brands. Ask for these in writing.

Why choose Northeast Custom Solar, and why you might not

What Northeast Custom Solar does well, and where to be careful, compared with the installers it competes with most.

Reasons to choose Northeast Custom Solar

  • It builds systems to fit your propertyIt puts panels on roofs, on the ground, or on shade covers over a patio. It also offers batteries, generators, EV chargers and off-grid systems. None of the three alternatives below lists generators.

  • It keeps parts close byNortheast Custom Solar says it keeps panels and parts in a local warehouse. Ask how fast it can come out if a part fails.

  • It promises 25 years of power outputIts FAQ says each system has a 25-year guarantee on how much power it makes. Ask what it does if your system makes less, and get it in writing.

  • It shows its Connecticut numbersIt prints two Connecticut license numbers on its site. You can check them with the state before you sign.

Reasons to look at others

  • It lists no warranty on its own workIt publishes no warranty on its own work, the inverter, the battery, or leaks where the panels are bolted to the roof. Trinity lists 10 years if you pay upfront. Get every warranty in writing.

  • It does not name its lendersIts loans and rent plans come from partners it does not name. Ask who you will pay, who owns rented panels, and what happens if you sell the house.

  • No license shown outside ConnecticutWe found no company license for it in Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire or New York. Its site also gives no street address. If you live outside Connecticut, ask for its license there.

  • One owner waited months for a fixIts Google listing has only 13 reviews. One negative review describes a panel that had not worked for four months, with no reply about a warranty fix. Ask who handles repairs and how fast.

Northeast Custom Solar reviews: what customers say

Each review site shows its own score; we read them on October 12 and 13, 2026 and do not combine them or add our own rating.

  • Google4.4 / 513 reviews · One office listing, not company-wideRead reviews

The five positive reviews below praise clean, punctual installs, same-day inspections, fair pricing and an easy monitoring app. Of the two negative reviews, one reports a panel that had not worked since installation four months earlier and no reply about a warranty fix, and the other mentions unresolved issues without detail. These are issues to ask about, not a measure of how often they happen. Ask Northeast Custom Solar who handles warranty repairs and how quickly it responds to service requests.

How we picked these: the five newest 5-star and the five newest 1- or 2-star reviews with written text on Google and Trustpilot, as of October 2026 (13 reviews read, back to Sep 17, 2024). We found no Trustpilot page for Northeast Custom Solar on October 12, 2026. Each quote is one sentence, word for word. Picking the highest and lowest ratings shows the range of experiences; it is not a representative sample, and we did not verify what reviewers describe.

Northeast Custom Solar does not name panel, inverter or battery brands on the pages we read. Its homepage lists roof and ground mounts, canopies and pergolas, batteries, EV chargers, generators and rainwater collection, and says it keeps a local warehouse of panels and parts. Your written proposal should list the exact panel, inverter and battery models, the system size in kilowatts (kW) and the forecast yearly production in kilowatt-hours (kWh).

Licenses

We found 2 active license records in state registries (October 13, 2026). 1 published or listed license is expired or inactive in Connecticut; see the records below. We found no record under its name in Massachusetts and New Hampshire; ask for the license number. Maine and New York license this work through individuals or local permits, not a company license; ask for the license holder’s number. Northeast Custom Solar publishes license numbers for Connecticut that we have not checked in the registry yet. Check the license yourself under the exact business name on your contract. A license check confirms registration, not workmanship quality.
