The five positive reviews below praise clear explanations, permit updates, punctual crews, a combined roof and solar job, and staff who keep answering questions after installation. The five negative reviews describe unreturned service calls and emails, panel errors the owner had to chase with the equipment maker, a three-month wait on a meter issue, three leaks in three months, and wrong invoices with a two-month delay. These are issues to ask about, not a measure of how often they happen. Ask SUNation who handles service calls and how quickly.

We found no Trustpilot page for SUNation Energy on October 12, 2026. Each quote is one sentence, word for word. How much does SUNation Energy cost?

SUNation does not publish a fixed system price on the pages we reviewed. Ask for an itemized quote showing the cash price, system size, equipment models and, if you finance or lease, the lender or lessor, the total of all payments, APR and fees. SUNation says it is a Pro Dealer with REC, S-Platform and Enphase (why SUNation page), and its site lists Tesla Powerwall and Enphase battery options. It also runs a paid Guardian monitoring service and a service department for existing systems, including former SunPower systems. Your written proposal should list the exact panel, inverter and battery models, the system size in kilowatts (kW) and the forecast yearly production in kilowatt-hours (kWh).

Where does SUNation Energy operate, and which licenses were checked?

SUNation’s New York locations page (read October 14, 2026) lists towns it serves in Suffolk County, Nassau County, Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island; its financing page names all of these except Brooklyn. Its locations page lists one Long Island office in Ronkonkoma (read October 14, 2026). Its site footer also shows a Florida license, but the pages we read do not advertise Florida service. A listed area does not mean every address qualifies or that EcoGen can connect you with SUNation there.

We found 5 active license records in state registries (October 13, 2026, September 7, 2026). Check the license yourself under the exact business name on your contract. A license check confirms registration, not workmanship quality.

SUNation’s why SUNation page says it has held a NYSERDA accreditation shared by five New York solar companies, is a Pro Dealer with REC, S-Platform and Enphase, and has won Long Island business awards. These are company statements; we did not verify them.

Before choosing SUNation Energy

Ask for these in writing:

1. An itemized quote with the cash price and the financed total, including the APR and all fees.
2. The exact panel, inverter and battery models, the system size in kW and the forecast yearly production in kWh.
3. The warranty documents for your payment plan: panels, inverter, labor and roof penetrations.
4. Your local service contact, and who handles utility approval and warranty claims.
5. The exact company on the contract, such as SUNation Energy, and its license for your state.

We read SUNation’s own pages on October 14, 2026: homepage, why SUNation, locations, financing, solar lease, FAQ, residential, battery storage, Guardian service, SunPower warranty, contact its New York locations page and its Suniva merger page. We also read its SEC filings and investor press releases on October 14, 2026 to check the merger status. The NYC license result is from a September 7, 2026 registry check. We did not buy a system, request a quote, visit an office or interview customers. SUNation did not review this page.
