Solar Topps Review
Solar and battery installerBased in Phoenix, ArizonaProfile updated October 14, 2026
Is Solar Topps a good choice?
Solar Topps fits Phoenix-area and Tucson homeowners who want named equipment and an in-house lease-to-own option. It says it was established in 2009, uses no subcontractors, and prints its Arizona ROC license number on its site. Its residential page advertises “25-year Total System Protection warranties,” but no page we read spells out what that covers. Get the workmanship and roof leak terms in writing.

Why choose Solar Topps, and why you might not
What Solar Topps does well, and where to be careful, compared with the installers it competes with most.
Reasons to choose Solar Topps
It names its equipmentSolar Topps names REC and Panasonic panels, and Tesla, Enphase and FranklinWH batteries. Solar Optimum and Palmetto name no panel brand. You can look up the equipment before you sign.
It has its own rent-to-own planYou can pay once upfront or monthly, and the panels can become yours later. Solar Topps says the monthly payment does not go up each year. It says you can buy the panels at any time with no penalty.
Its own crews do the workSolar Topps says it uses no hired-in crews and has worked since 2009. Its Arizona license was active when we checked on October 13, 2026.
Owners praise its help with permitsIts head-office Google listing shows 4.6 from 257 reviews. Owners praise quick answers, help with permits, neat work and clear updates while waiting for the power company.
Reasons to look at others
Its 25-year promise is not explainedIts warranty guide covers its own work for 10 years. Another page advertises 25-year system protection, but we found no page that says what it covers. Ask which warranty is in your contract.
No set term for roof leaksSolar Topps says it has a roof warranty but gives no length. Sun Valley lists 10 years for leaks where the panels are bolted to the roof, and Solar Optimum lists 25. Ask for the term in writing.
It does not name its lendersSolar Topps says it offers loans, but names no lender and no terms. Ask who you will pay, and for the rate and fees in writing.
Some systems stopped working for monthsIts negative reviews describe three systems where part of the panels stopped making power for months without a fix. Others mention broken roof tiles and failed inspections. Ask who fixes the system if part of it stops working.
Solar Topps reviews: what customers say

The five positive reviews below praise responsive sales, help with permits, neatly labeled installs and clear updates through utility approval. The five negative reviews describe three systems with part of the array not producing for months without a fix, broken roof tiles, and an expansion with delays, two failed inspections and a mislabeled electrical panel. These are issues to ask about, not a measure of how often they happen. Ask Solar Topps who fixes the system if part of it stops producing.

Licenses
We found 2 active license records in state registries (October 13, 2026). Solar Topps publishes license numbers for Arizona that we have not checked in the registry yet.
