Is Mountain View Solar a good choice?
Mountain View Solar fits homeowners in the West Virginia Eastern Panhandle and nearby Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania who want battery backup, including off-grid setups, from a local in-house crew. It says it has installed solar since 2009 and lists equipment warranty terms by brand in its resource center FAQ. It publishes no workmanship or roof leak warranty and prints no license numbers. Ask for both in writing.

What Mountain View Solar does well, and where to be careful, compared with the installers it competes with most.
Reasons to choose mtvSolar
It does battery backup, even off the gridMountain View Solar puts in home batteries, including for homes not hooked up to the power company. It names Tesla, Enphase, SolarEdge, DEKA and Harris batteries.
It lists equipment warranties by brandIts FAQ lists panels at 25 years, Enphase inverters at 25 years and Tesla batteries at 10. The FAQ may be out of date, so confirm each term in your quote.
Its own crew does the workIt says it does not hand home installs to other companies. It says it has put in solar since 2009.
Owners praise its help with paperworkGood reviews praise staff who handled paperwork and fixed a power bill error. One says it replaced an inverter free under warranty on a system another installer left behind.
Reasons to look at others

It prints no license numbersWe found active licenses in West Virginia and Maryland. We found no Pennsylvania record, and its Virginia license is not published. Ask for the license number in your state and check it.
It lists only a loanIts site lists a loan with no money down and names no lender. It lists no cash, rent or PPA plan. Ask what else it offers and who the lender is.
It names no panel brandIt calls its panels only “premium.” Ask for the exact panel model in your written quote.

The five positive reviews below praise staff who handled the paperwork, including meeting a net metering deadline and fixing a utility billing error, a free warranty inverter replacement on a system another installer left behind, and help setting up home batteries. There were no negative reviews among the reviews we read. Positive reviews alone do not show how a company handles problems. Ask Mountain View Solar who handles service calls and warranty claims after installation.

How we picked these: the five newest 5-star and the five newest 1- or 2-star reviews with written text on Google and Trustpilot, as of October 2026 (39 reviews read, back to Jul 19, 2012). We found no Trustpilot page for Mountain View Solar on October 12, 2026. Each quote is one sentence, word for word. Picking the highest and lowest ratings shows the range of experiences; it is not a representative sample, and we did not verify what reviewers describe.
How much does Mountain View Solar cost?
Mountain View Solar does not publish a price for your system; its residential page says it sends a free custom proposal. Ask for an itemized proposal with the cash price, system size, equipment models and, for a loan, the lender’s full terms with APR and fees. Its FAQ still discusses spreading a federal solar tax credit; that residential credit ended for systems placed in service after December 31, 2025. For state price ranges, see our solar panel cost guide; for how the plans compare, see loans, leases and PPAs.
Solar loan
You own itThe company says it can finance 100% of the system with $0 down, payments starting after the array is producing. The lender is not named.
Plans as listed on Mountain View Solar’s residential page and resource center FAQ, read October 13, 2026. No cash, lease or PPA terms are listed.
Mountain View Solar’s resource center FAQ names SolarEdge inverters and optimizers, Enphase IQ microinverters and Tesla Powerwall, DEKA, Harris, Enphase and SolarEdge batteries; its residential page also offers DC-coupled Schneider battery systems. It does not name a panel brand, only “Premium solar modules.” Your written proposal should list the exact models, the system size in kilowatts (kW) and the forecast yearly production in kilowatt-hours (kWh).

Mountain View Solar’s residential page says its employees are industry certified, that it does not outsource residential work, and that it offers Pearl Certification for each system. It says it was previously Mountain View Builders, a general contractor for more than 25 years. These are company statements; we did not verify them.
