Solar Energy World Review

Solar and battery installerBased in Laurel, MarylandProfile updated October 13, 2026

Is Solar Energy World a good choice?

Solar Energy World fits Mid-Atlantic and Florida homeowners who want one installer for solar and batteries, with either ownership or a lease run by its own leasing arm. It says it was established in 2009 and publishes license numbers for every state it serves. Its Triple Platinum 30-Year Warranty names roof penetration leaks and a first-year production guarantee, but gives no separate battery or workmanship term, so ask for those in writing.

Solar Energy World reviews: what customers say

Each review site shows its own score; we read them on October 12 and 13, 2026 and do not combine them or add our own rating.

  • Google4.6 / 5995 reviews · Laurel, MD office listing only, not company-wideRead reviews
  • Trustpilot3.2 / 51 review · All reviews on its Trustpilot pageRead reviews

The five positive reviews below praise responsive consultants, help with permits and scheduling, and a neat crew that returned within a day to fix an attic item. The five negative reviews describe repairs scheduled months out, unanswered service requests, a lease still not connected months after install, and a roof leak the company first denied and later attributed to its install. These are issues to ask about, not a measure of how often they happen. Ask Solar Energy World how soon it schedules warranty repairs.

How we picked these: the five newest 5-star and the five newest 1- or 2-star reviews with written text on Google and Trustpilot, as of October 2026 (201 reviews read, back to Jul 23, 2025). Each quote is one sentence, word for word. Picking the highest and lowest ratings shows the range of experiences; it is not a representative sample, and we did not verify what reviewers describe.

How much does Solar Energy World cost?

Solar Energy World does not publish a price for a specific system; its pricing page says pricing starts with a solar evaluation. Ask for an itemized quote with the cash price, system size and equipment models. For a loan, ask for the lender, APR, fees and financed total; for its Savings+ lease, ask for the monthly payment, rate lock term, prepayment price and buyout schedule. For state price ranges, see our solar panel cost guide; for how the plans compare, see loans, leases and PPAs.

Purchase

You own it

You pay the full price.

Solar loan

You own it

The company says solar loans are available; it names no lender or terms.

Savings+ lease

Solar Energy World Leasing owns it

No upfront cost and a monthly payment with a 25-year or 5-year rate lock. Maintenance is included for the 25-year term. You can prepay the lease at a set discount or buy the system after year five. Availability depends on your state.

Plans as listed on Solar Energy World’s own vs. lease page and Savings+ page, read October 13, 2026.

Solar Energy World says it is not limited to one panel brand and works with makers in the USA, Canada and elsewhere (products page); it names no panel brand there. Its battery page names Enphase and SolarEdge batteries, and LG Chem RESU with SolarEdge. Your written proposal should list the exact panel, inverter and battery models, the system size in kilowatts (kW) and the forecast yearly production in kilowatt-hours (kWh).

Where does Solar Energy World operate, and which licenses were checked?

Its contact page lists offices in Laurel, MD, Pennsauken, NJ, Tampa, FL and Alexandria, VA. A listed state does not mean every address qualifies or that EcoGen can connect you with Solar Energy World there.
