Intermountain Wind & Solar Review

Solar, battery and roofing installer for homes and businessesBased in Centerville, UtahProfile updated October 14, 2026

Is Intermountain Wind & Solar a good choice?

Intermountain Wind & Solar fits Utah and southern Idaho homeowners who want an installer that names its equipment and does the work with its own staff. It lists Hyundai, Trina and mSolar panels, Enphase and SolarEdge inverters and Tesla Powerwall batteries, and says it does not outsource installs. Its main offer now is a prepaid lease where a third party owns the system for about five to six years. It publishes no workmanship warranty term, so get it in writing.

Why choose Intermountain Wind & Solar, and why you might not

What Intermountain does well, and where to be careful, compared with the installers it competes with most.

Reasons to choose Intermountain

  • It does your roof tooIntermountain puts in solar and also does roof work. None of the three alternatives below lists roofing.

  • It names its equipment brandsIntermountain names Hyundai, Trina and mSolar panels, Enphase and SolarEdge inverters, and Tesla Powerwall batteries. It says it plans each system for local snow and wind. You can look up the equipment before a sales visit.

  • Its own staff do the workIntermountain says it does not hand installs to outside crews. It says its installers are full-time employees.

  • You can pay once and skip monthly billsWith its prepaid lease, you pay once upfront and have no monthly bills. A partner company owns the system for about five to six years. That partner covers upkeep and repairs in that time.

Reasons to look at others

  • Its Oregon contractor license had expiredWhen we checked on October 13, 2026, its Oregon contractor license showed as expired. It prints no license number for Utah, Idaho or Wyoming. Ask for each number and check it with your state before you sign.

  • It lists no warranty on its own workIntermountain gives no term for its own work or for leaks where the panels are bolted to the roof. Big Dog lists 10 years for both if you pay upfront. Get every warranty in writing.

  • Some reviews describe roof leaksIts negative reviews describe a roof damaged under the panels, a leak near a vent that put three rooms out of use, changed prices and poor battery service. Ask how it seals the roof and who pays for a later leak.

  • The lease leaves ownership unclearIts site does not say who owns the system after the partner’s five or six years. It names no lender for its loans. Ask both before you sign.

The five positive reviews below praise helpful support, including for a system another company installed, and smooth installations. The five negative reviews describe unwanted texts, a roof reported damaged under the panels with a missed inspection visit, a leak near a roof vent that displaced a family from three rooms, slow replies with changed prices, and poor battery service. These are issues to ask about, not a measure of how often they happen. Ask Intermountain how it seals roof penetrations and who pays if a leak appears later.

How we picked these: the five newest 5-star and the five newest 1- or 2-star reviews with written text on Google and Trustpilot, as of October 2026 (200 reviews read, back to Nov 14, 2022). We found no Trustpilot page for Intermountain Wind & Solar on October 12, 2026. Each quote is one sentence, word for word. Picking the highest and lowest ratings shows the range of experiences; it is not a representative sample, and we did not verify what reviewers describe.

How much does Intermountain Wind & Solar cost?
