Semper Solaris Review

Solar, battery, roofing, HVAC and window installerBased in El Cajon, CaliforniaProfile updated October 14, 2026

Is Semper Solaris a good choice?

Semper Solaris fits California homeowners who want solar, batteries and roof work from one company; it says it is veteran-owned and also lists offices in Arizona, Florida, Illinois and Texas. Its CSLB license 978152 covers general building, electrical, solar, roofing and HVAC work. It posts maker warranty documents for its panels, inverters and batteries, but no Semper workmanship term. Get the labor and roof-leak terms in writing before you sign.

Why choose Semper Solaris, and why you might not

What Semper does well, and where to be careful, compared with the installers it competes with most.

Reasons to choose Semper

  • It does your roof tooSemper puts in solar and batteries and also does roofs, heating and cooling, and windows. Of the three alternatives below, Solar Optimum and Solaria also do roofing.

  • It names its equipment brandsSemper names Silfab and Q Cells panels, Enphase and Tesla inverters, and Tesla Powerwall and Enphase batteries. It posts the makers’ warranties. None of the three alternatives below names a panel brand.

  • Its California license is activeIts California license 978152 covers building, electrical, solar, roofing and heating work. It was active when we checked on October 13, 2026. Ask for its license in other states.

  • It has many offices in CaliforniaSemper lists 15 California offices from San Diego to Sacramento. It has one office each near Phoenix, Tampa, Chicago and Dallas. It says it is owned by veterans.

Reasons to look at others

  • It lists no warranty on its own solar workSemper publishes no warranty on its own solar work. Its 50-year work warranty is for some roof jobs only. Solar Optimum lists 25 years, and Palmetto 10. Ask Semper for its solar term in writing.

  • No warranty listed for roof leaksSemper lists no warranty for leaks where the panels are bolted to the roof. Solar Optimum lists a 25-year roof warranty. Ask who fixes a leak there, and for how long.

  • It lists only a loan or a PPAIts site shows a loan or a PPA (you pay for the power; another company owns the panels). It names neither company. Ask if you can pay in full, and who owns the panels.

  • Owners report long waits for serviceIts negative reviews describe waits of weeks to a month for a service visit, repeat repair calls and emails with no answer. Ask how soon a service visit is booked after the install.

Semper Solaris reviews: what customers say

The five positive reviews below praise courteous, knowledgeable technicians and helpful phone support. The five negative reviews describe waits of weeks to a month for a service appointment, repeated repair calls, an automated phone line and unanswered emails, and missed callbacks. These are issues to ask about, not a measure of how often they happen. Ask Semper how long service appointments take to schedule after installation.

How we picked these: the five newest 5-star and the five newest 1- or 2-star reviews with written text on Google and Trustpilot, as of October 2026 (249 reviews read, back to Jul 18, 2017). Each quote is one sentence, word for word. Picking the highest and lowest ratings shows the range of experiences; it is not a representative sample, and we did not verify what reviewers describe.

How much does Semper Solaris cost?

Semper Solaris does not publish a system price on its solar financing page or the other pages we read. Ask for an itemized quote showing the cash price, system size and equipment models. For a loan, ask for the lender, financed total, APR and fees; for a PPA, ask for the rate per kilowatt-hour, any yearly increase and the term. For state price ranges, see our solar panel cost guide; for how the plans compare, see loans, leases and PPAs.

Solar loan

You own it

Monthly payments; the company says you own the system. The lender is not named.

PPA

A provider owns it

You pay a set rate for the power the system produces. Its FAQ says the provider installs and maintains the equipment; the provider is not named.

Plans as listed on Semper Solaris’s solar financing page, read October 14, 2026. That page does not describe a cash purchase.

Semper Solaris’s warranties page posts maker warranties for Silfab and Q Cells panels, Enphase IQ8 microinverters, Tesla PVI inverters and Tesla Powerwall batteries. Its battery page names Tesla Powerwall 3 and Enphase IQ batteries, and its solar page says customers can choose American-made panels. Your written proposal should list the exact panel, inverter and battery models, the system size in kilowatts (kW) and the forecast yearly production in kilowatt-hours (kWh).

What does Semper Solaris’s warranty cover?

Warranty terms Semper publishes, by type of coverage
Coverage
What Semper publishes
What to confirm
Solar panels
Maker’s warranty: Silfab 25-year product and Q Cells 25-year limited warranty documents posted
Which panel you get. Silfab’s posted terms give 12 years, extended to 25 only when the installer is a registered Silfab installer.
Panel output
Maker’s warranty: Silfab 30-year performance warranty posted
The output guarantee for your exact panel model.
Inverter
Maker’s warranty: Enphase IQ8 microinverter 25-year limited warranty and a Tesla PVI inverter warranty posted
Which inverter you get, its term and who pays labor to replace it.
Battery
Maker’s warranty: its battery page says Tesla Powerwall and Enphase batteries come with a 10-year limited warranty
The battery model, its term and who services it.
Labor and workmanship
Not published
Confirm in your proposal: the workmanship term and what it covers. A file on its warranties page titled “Silfab (Semper Solaris Enhanced Labor Warranty)” contains Silfab’s panel warranty, not a Semper labor term. Its solar and roofing page mentions “a 25-year warranty on the solar” without saying what it covers.
Roof penetrations
Not published
Confirm in your proposal: who repairs and pays if a leak starts at a panel mount.

Company-published terms from Semper Solaris’s warranties page, the maker documents it links and its battery page, read October 14, 2026. Your signed agreement decides what applies.

Its solar and roofing page advertises up to a 50-year Owens Corning warranty and a 50-year workmanship warranty on Owens Corning roof projects. That is roofing coverage, not solar workmanship coverage.

Where does Semper Solaris operate, and which licenses were checked?

Semper Solaris’s locations page lists 15 California offices from San Diego to Sacramento, plus one office each in Phoenix, AZ; Tampa, FL; Downers Grove, IL (Chicago area); and McKinney, TX (Dallas area) (read October 14, 2026). Its solar service page describes service “across California.” The site does not list the cities or counties each office covers. Its claimed Google Business listings (checked October 14, 2026) add some detail: the El Cajon office lists San Diego County communities such as La Mesa, Santee, Lakeside and Mira Mesa, and the Phoenix office lists Maricopa, Gila, Yavapai and Pinal counties. A listed state does not mean every address qualifies or that EcoGen can connect you with Semper there.

Licenses

We found 1 active license record in state registries (October 13, 2026). Semper publishes license numbers for Arizona, California and Florida that we have not checked in the registry yet. Check the license yourself under the exact business name on your contract. A license check confirms registration, not workmanship quality.
