Is Power Solar PR a good choice?

Power Solar fits Puerto Rico homeowners who want solar and battery backup from a large local company with its own financing arm. It says it was established in 2018 and is part of Power Group. Its home solar page describes warranty service and storm-damage coverage without terms in years. A company post on its fixed-payment plan lists a 25-year system warranty and 10 years for roof penetrations, but no page says who owns a financed system. Get the terms and ownership in writing.

What Power Solar does well, and where to be careful, compared with the installers it competes with most.

Reasons to choose Power Solar

  • It has many stores across the islandPower Solar lists 19 locations in Puerto Rico, from San Juan to Ponce and Fajardo. It says it covers the whole island.

  • It names its equipment brandsIts partners include Canadian Solar, Enphase, Tesla and Fortress Power. It says its panel racks are rated for winds up to 190 mph. Maximo names no brands.

  • It seals roofs and lists a leak warrantyPower Solar also seals roofs. Its fixed-payment plan lists 10 years for leaks where the panels are bolted to the roof. None of the three alternatives below lists a roof leak term.

  • Its fixed-payment plan has a 25-year warrantyA company post says this plan has a 25-year warranty that covers any damage to the system. Ask if it applies to your plan, and get it in writing.

Reasons to look at others

  • It is unclear who owns the panelsPower Solar’s financing comes from its own arm, Power Financial. No page says who owns a financed system or whether you can pay cash. Ask both before you sign.

  • Its warranty on its own work has no set lengthIt lists service and storm damage cover, but no length for its own work, the inverter or the battery. WindMar lists 10 years on its work if you buy. Get each term in writing.

How much does Power Solar PR cost?

Power Solar does not publish a system price; its offer pages advertise monthly payments only. Ask for a written quote with the total contract cost, the monthly payment, the term, any yearly increase and the system size and equipment models. Its home solar page says the first step is signing a “service agreement,” so ask whether you are buying, financing or leasing the system. Ask who owns it

Financing through Power Financial, which the company calls its own financing division. Its FAQ says the agreement creates no lien, transfers if you sell, and works like a utility service. Ask who owns the system.

Power Solar’s homepage shows Canadian Solar, Enphase, Tesla (certified), Fortress Power, EcoFlow and Unirac among its partners, and its home solar page says it uses Unirac racking rated for winds up to 190 mph. It sells EcoFlow portable batteries for apartments. Your written proposal should list the exact panel, inverter and battery models, the system size in kilowatts (kW) and the forecast yearly production in kilowatt-hours (kWh).

Its roof sealing page advertises a limited lifetime warranty on silicone roof sealing. That is roofing coverage, not solar workmanship coverage.

Where does Power Solar PR operate, and which licenses were checked?

Power Solar’s homepage says it has more than 20 locations in Puerto Rico, and its quote form lists every municipality (read October 13, 2026). Its store locator lists 19 locations (read October 14, 2026): an administrative office in Hato Rey, stores and training centers from San Juan, Bayamón and Caguas to Ponce, Mayagüez, Isabela and Fajardo, and sales kiosks in malls and Walmart stores. A listed municipality does not mean every address qualifies or that EcoGen can connect you with Power Solar there.

We have not checked Power Solar’s licenses in a state registry yet, and its website does not list license numbers we could match. Check the license yourself under the exact business name on your contract. A license check confirms registration, not workmanship quality.

Power Solar’s homepage shows BBB, women-owned certification, OSHA, EPA, DACO and Department of Economic Development logos, and a Tesla Certified partner logo. Its about page says it is part of Power Group, which it says has worked in home energy for more than 17 years. These are company statements; we did not verify them.

  1. An itemized quote with the cash price and the financed total, including the APR and all fees.
  2. The exact panel, inverter and battery models, the system size in kW and the forecast yearly production in kWh.
  3. The warranty documents for your payment plan: panels, inverter, labor and roof penetrations.
  4. Your local service contact, and who handles utility approval and warranty claims.
  5. The exact company on the contract, such as Power Solar, and its license for your state.

How we researched this profile

We read Power Solar’s own pages, in Spanish, on October 13, 2026: homepage, about, home solar and FAQ, roof sealing, store locator, contact, its Sunnova transition notice and two blog posts. On October 14, 2026 we also read its store locator data and its post on the fixed-payment plan. We did not buy a system, request a quote, visit an office or interview customers.
