Is Luminalt a good choice?
Luminalt fits San Francisco Bay Area homeowners who want to buy their system from a long-running local installer. It says it was founded in San Francisco in 2004, is locally owned and has no outside investors. It holds an active CSLB license covering solar, electrical and general building work. Its site publishes no workmanship warranty term and it does not offer leases, so ask for the workmanship and leak terms in writing.

It names no current brandsLuminalt names no panel, inverter or battery brand it uses today. It put in SunPower panels in the past. Ask for the exact models in your written quote.
You have to buy the systemIt lists cash and a loan through Clean Energy Credit Union. It does not rent panels or offer a PPA (you pay for the power; the company owns the panels). Ask for the loan rate, length and fees.
We found few reviews to readWe found no Google listing for its head office. The one negative review we read describes a messy install and wrong app data for two years. Ask who checks your app after the install.

How much does Luminalt cost?
Luminalt does not publish a system price; its quote form asks for your roof, usage and utility data before it prepares a quote. Ask for an itemized quote showing the cash price, system size, equipment models and, for a loan, the APR, fees and financed total. Its site still describes the federal 30% credit, which ended for home systems placed in service after December 31, 2025; check any payback figure against that. Loan through Clean Energy Credit Union
You own itLuminalt says it can arrange a loan through its financing partner, Clean Energy Credit Union. Ask for the rate, term and fees.
Plans as listed on Luminalt’s solar finance page, read October 13, 2026. It says it does not offer leases, and its quote form says it does not install leased systems.
Luminalt names no current panel, inverter or battery brand on its home solar or battery pages. Its SunPower owners page shows it installed SunPower panels in the past and says it has no information yet on Maxeon’s warranty after an April 2026 filing. Your written proposal should list the exact panel, inverter and battery models, the system size in kilowatts (kW) and the forecast yearly production in kilowatt-hours (kWh).

Luminalt describes itself as a San Francisco Bay Area installer based in San Francisco, with a focus on the city’s dense rooftops (homepage, read October 13, 2026). It does not list counties or cities beyond the Bay Area. A listed area does not mean every address qualifies or that EcoGen can connect you with Luminalt there.
