JEH Solar Review

Solar, electrical and generator contractorBased in Lafayette, LouisianaProfile updated October 13, 2026

Is JEH Solar a good choice?

JEH Solar fits South Louisiana homeowners around Lafayette and Baton Rouge who want an electrical contractor for solar, batteries and backup generators. It prints a Louisiana solar specialty license number and a 25-year workmanship and manufacturer warranty on its site. That warranty is one line with no detail, so ask for the written terms, and confirm the panel brand, since one brand its residential page names is no longer made.

Why choose JEH Solar, and why you might not

What JEH Solar does well, and where to be careful, compared with the installers it competes with most.

Reasons to choose JEH Solar

  • It is an electrician, tooJEH Solar is an electrical contractor. It puts in solar, batteries and backup generators. Of the three alternatives below, only Freedom Power also puts in generators.

  • It lists 25 years on its own workIts site lists 25 years on its own work. Freedom Power and Longhorn list the same. Solar Alternatives lists 25 years only with its prepaid rent plan.

  • It works on systems you already haveJEH Solar services solar systems that are already in place, and it can add battery backup. Its good reviews praise polite, on-time crews who work neatly.

  • It shows its Louisiana license numberJEH Solar prints a Louisiana solar license number on its site. Ask for its Texas license too, and check both with the state.

Reasons to look at others

  • Its warranty is a single lineThe 25-year warranty is one line on its site, with no details. It lists no separate warranty for leaks where the panels are bolted to the roof. Ask for the full terms in writing.

  • Its brand list looks out of dateJEH Solar names Enphase, SolarWorld and DPW Solar. SolarWorld no longer makes panels. Ask which panel you will get, and get the model in your quote.

  • You can only buy or take a loanIt lists no rent or PPA plan. Its loan link goes to an outside lender, HFS Financial, which sets the terms. Ask for the rate and length before you apply.

  • Its Texas service area is unclearIts site does not say which parts of Texas it serves. Its Google listing has only 13 reviews. Ask if it works at your address, and who takes service calls.

JEH Solar reviews: what customers say

Each review site shows its own score; we read them on October 12 and 13, 2026 and do not combine them or add our own rating.

  • Google4.7 / 513 reviews · Lafayette, LA office listing only, not company-wideRead reviews

The five positive reviews below praise polite, punctual crews who work neatly, an owner who knows solar well and gave free advice even to a caller outside the service area, and a new electrical panel installed in one day. There were no negative reviews among the reviews we read. Positive reviews alone do not show how a company handles problems. Ask JEH Solar who handles service calls after installation and how quickly they respond.

How we picked these: the five newest 5-star and the five newest 1- or 2-star reviews with written text on Google and Trustpilot, as of October 2026 (13 reviews read, back to Aug 26, 2019). We found no Trustpilot page for JEH Solar on October 12, 2026. Each quote is one sentence, word for word. Picking the highest and lowest ratings shows the range of experiences; it is not a representative sample, and we did not verify what reviewers describe.

How much does JEH Solar cost?

JEH Solar does not publish a system price on the pages we reviewed; it offers a free estimate and an online solar calculator. Ask for an itemized quote showing the cash price, system size, equipment models and, for a loan, the financed total with APR and fees. For state price ranges, see our solar panel cost guide; for how the plans compare, see loans, leases and PPAs.

The site’s financing link goes to an HFS Financial application page. The lender sets the terms.

Plans as stated on JEH Solar’s site footer (“We offer Purchase or Loans for systems”) and its financing menu link, read October 13, 2026. No lease or PPA is listed.

JEH Solar’s residential page says it uses products from Enphase Energy, SolarWorld, DPW Solar and others, and can add battery backup. SolarWorld no longer makes panels, so treat that list as dated. Your written proposal should list the exact panel, inverter and battery models, the system size in kilowatts (kW) and the forecast yearly production in kilowatt-hours (kWh). JEH also installs backup generators and services existing solar systems.

Where does JEH Solar operate, and which licenses were checked?

JEH Solar’s homepage says it serves all of Louisiana and parts of Texas, and focuses on Lafayette, Baton Rouge and South Louisiana (read October 13, 2026). It does not say which parts of Texas. A listed state does not mean every address qualifies or that EcoGen can connect you with JEH Solar there.

Licenses

JEH Solar publishes license numbers for Louisiana that we have not checked in the registry yet. Check the license yourself under the exact business name on your contract. A license check confirms registration, not workmanship quality.
