Is Freedom Power a good choice?

Freedom Power, formerly Freedom Solar Power, fits Texas and Florida homeowners who want solar, batteries, generators and HVAC from one company. Its warranty page lists a 25-year workmanship warranty that includes 10 years on roof penetrations, and says it does not subcontract installs. Its cost page lists cash, lease and HELOC options but no system price. Confirm the warranty and the lease owner in writing.

Why choose Freedom Power, and why you might not

What Freedom Power does well, and where to be careful, compared with the installers it competes with most.

Reasons to choose Freedom Power

  • Its warranty on its own work is 25 yearsFreedom covers its install and electrical work for 25 years. That includes 10 years for leaks where the panels are bolted to the roof. Palmetto lists 10 years, and Semper lists none.

  • It names its equipment brandsFreedom names Maxeon, Qcells, REC and Mission Solar panels, Enphase equipment, and Tesla Powerwall 3 and Enphase batteries. You can look them up before a sales visit.

  • It does generators and air conditioning tooFreedom puts in solar, batteries, Generac generators and heating and cooling systems. You can get all of them from one company.

  • Its own crews do the installFreedom says it does not hire other companies to put in its systems. It has offices in Austin, Grapevine, Houston, Schertz, Orlando and Tampa.

Reasons to look at others

  • Its rent plan comes from another companyIf you rent the panels, another company owns them. Freedom does not say which one. Ask who owns the panels and for the full rental terms in writing.

  • It offers no solar loan of its ownTo borrow, you take a home equity line of credit from your own bank. Palmetto and Semper list solar loans. Ask Freedom which lenders other owners have used.

  • Its warranty on other work is 1 yearThe 25-year warranty is for solar. Freedom lists only 1 year on its own work for generators and heating and cooling. Ask for each term in writing.

  • Some owners waited weeks for serviceIts negative reviews describe a system down over a month without a visit, and a 30 to 45 day wait for service. One says the warranty was not honored. Ask how soon service calls get a visit.

The five positive reviews below praise low-pressure sales, quick answers to questions and tidy, professional installs. The five negative reviews describe a no-show at a confirmed air conditioner inspection, a system down over a month without a visit, a 30 to 45 day wait for service, a reviewer reporting the warranty was not honored, and a refusal to service panels installed by others. These are issues to ask about, not a measure of how often they happen. Ask Freedom how soon service calls are scheduled and what the warranty covers.

How we picked these: the five newest 5-star and the five newest 1- or 2-star reviews with written text on Google and Trustpilot, as of October 2026 (200 reviews read, back to Mar 21, 2025). We found no Trustpilot page for Freedom Power on October 12, 2026. Each quote is one sentence, word for word. Picking the highest and lowest ratings shows the range of experiences; it is not a representative sample, and we did not verify what reviewers describe.

How much does Freedom Power cost?

Freedom Power does not list a fixed system price on its cost and savings page; it advertises monthly payment examples and promotions instead. Ask for an itemized quote with the cash price, system size, equipment models and, for a lease, the monthly payment, term and escalator in writing. That page also says leases still qualify for a federal credit in 2026, which may be out of date; confirm any incentive with a tax professional. For state price ranges, see our solar panel cost guide; for how the plans compare, see loans, leases and PPAs.

Cash purchase

You own it

You pay for the system and own it from day one.

Lease (third-party ownership)

A solar provider owns it

Little or no upfront cost and a fixed monthly payment; the owner handles maintenance and monitoring. The company says its lease has a 0% escalator and can usually transfer to a buyer, subject to approval.

HELOC financing

You own it

You borrow against your home equity through your own lender to pay for the system.

Plans as listed on Freedom Power’s cost and savings page, read October 14, 2026. It does not name the leasing company.

Freedom Power’s warranty page names Maxeon, Qcells, REC and Mission Solar panels, Enphase inverters and the Generac PWRmicro microinverter. Its homepage names Tesla Powerwall 3 and Enphase IQ 3P batteries, and Generac generators. Your written proposal should list the exact panel, inverter and battery models, the system size in kilowatts (kW) and the forecast yearly production in kilowatt-hours (kWh).

Company-published terms from Freedom Power’s warranty page, read October 14, 2026. Your signed agreement decides what applies.

The same page lists only a 1-year workmanship warranty for generator and HVAC installs; the 25-year term is for solar.

Where does Freedom Power operate, and which licenses were checked?

Freedom Power’s locations page (read October 14, 2026) says it serves homes and businesses across Texas and Florida, with offices in Austin, Grapevine, Houston, Schertz, Orlando and Tampa. Its licenses page lists licenses in many other states, but it advertises service only in these two. A listed state does not mean every address qualifies or that EcoGen can connect you with Freedom Power there.

Licenses

We found 4 active license records in state registries (October 13, 2026, September 8, 2026). We found no record under its name in Texas; ask for the license number. Check the license yourself under the exact business name on your contract. A license check confirms registration, not workmanship quality.

EcoGen Verified Installer, September 2026Freedom Power passed our three checks on that date: an active license in a state registry, published in-state service, and a workmanship warranty that covers roof penetrations. What the badge means

How we researched this profile

We read Freedom Power’s own pages on October 14, 2026: homepage, about, warranty, cost and savings, locations and licenses. The TX and FL license results are from registry checks on September 8, 2026. We did not buy a system, request a quote, visit an office or interview customers. Freedom Power did not review this page.
