Is Clean Energy USA a good choice?

Clean Energy USA fits Delaware homeowners who want an in-state installer that also services older systems. It says it has served Delaware since 2007 and is part of the Schell Brothers family of companies. Its residential page gives a 25-year panel warranty, and its commercial FAQ adds its own 10-year workmanship warranty. It lists no payment plans of its own and no roof terms. Ask which terms apply to your home, in writing.

Why choose Clean Energy USA, and why you might not

What Clean Energy USA does well, and where to be careful, compared with the installers it competes with most.

Reasons to choose Clean Energy USA

  • It helps with older systems tooClean Energy USA gives support help for older systems from Fronius, Enphase, SMA and SunPower. One owner praises help getting an older system’s tracking app working again.

  • It has worked in Delaware since 2007The company says it has served Delaware since 2007. It is part of the Schell Brothers family of companies. Its Delaware license was active when we checked on October 13, 2026.

  • Owners praise a quick startIts head-office Google listing shows 4.9 from 161 reviews, the highest score in the table below. Owners praise staff who answer fast and a system turned on quickly, with permits handled.

  • It points you to Delaware programsIts incentives page names a low-interest Delaware state loan and a state program for lower-income homes. CMI names similar programs. The state, not the company, sets their terms.

Reasons to look at others

  • It lists no payment plan of its ownIt lists no way to pay upfront, no company loan, no way to rent the panels and no PPA. SunnyMac lists all four. Ask which plans Clean Energy USA offers.

  • Its work warranty may not cover homesIts 10-year warranty on its own work appears on its page for businesses. We could not confirm it applies to homes. Ask for the home warranty in writing.

  • No roof leak warranty or brands listedIt lists no warranty for leaks where the panels are bolted to the roof. It names no panel, inverter or battery brands for new systems. Ask for the exact models and every warranty in writing.

  • Some owners could not get a call backIts negative reviews describe calls and voicemails with no answer. One owner was still waiting weeks after an electrician visit. Ask who returns service calls and how fast.

The five positive reviews below praise dedicated, responsive staff, quick activation with paperwork and permits handled, and help reconnecting an inverter’s monitoring, though one wished the instructions supported Macs. The three negative reviews describe calls and voicemails that went unreturned, including a reviewer still waiting weeks after an electrician visit about linking a generator to the solar inverter. These are issues to ask about, not a measure of how often they happen. Ask Clean Energy USA who returns service calls and how quickly.

How we picked these: the five newest 5-star and the five newest 1- or 2-star reviews with written text on Google and Trustpilot, as of October 2026 (161 reviews read, back to Mar 8, 2010). We found no Trustpilot page for Clean Energy USA on October 12, 2026. Each quote is one sentence, word for word. Picking the highest and lowest ratings shows the range of experiences; it is not a representative sample, and we did not verify what reviewers describe.

How much does Clean Energy USA cost?

Clean Energy USA does not publish its own system price; its residential FAQ gives only a general average range for home solar. Ask for an itemized quote showing the cash price, system size and equipment models, and how any state program or loan changes what you pay. For state price ranges, see our solar panel cost guide; for how the plans compare, see loans, leases and PPAs.

State-backed loan (Green Grant Delaware)

You own it

A low-interest state loan program named on its incentives page. Terms are set by the program, not the company.

Low- to Moderate-Income Solar Program

Ask who owns it

A state program for qualifying households, named on its incentives page. Ask who owns the system and what you must sign.

Programs as listed on Clean Energy USA’s residential incentives page, read October 13, 2026. The site lists no company loan, lease or PPA.

Clean Energy USA does not name the panel, inverter or battery brands it installs on the pages we read. Its customer service page gives support help for Fronius, Enphase, SMA and SunPower inverters, and it also installs Span smart electrical panels and EV chargers. Your written proposal should list the exact panel, inverter and battery models, the system size in kilowatts (kW) and the forecast yearly production in kilowatt-hours (kWh).

Where does Clean Energy USA operate, and which licenses were checked?

Clean Energy USA’s who we serve page says it serves all of Delaware, for homes, businesses and nonprofits (read October 13, 2026). It lists no counties or towns. A listed state does not mean every address qualifies or that EcoGen can connect you with Clean Energy USA there.

We read Clean Energy USA’s own pages on October 13, 2026: homepage, who we serve, why CEUSA, our mission, residential solar, residential FAQ, incentives, battery backup and customer service FAQ. On October 14, 2026 we read its commercial solar FAQ, contact, team, privacy, low- to moderate-income program and loan pages, and checked its claimed Google listing. We did not check its licenses in a state registry. We did not buy a system, request a quote, visit an office or interview customers. Clean Energy USA did not review this page.
