8MSolar Review
Solar, battery and EV charger installerBased in Raleigh, North CarolinaProfile updated October 14, 2026
Is 8MSolar a good choice?
8MSolar fits North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia homeowners who want a choice of equipment brands. It says it is equipment agnostic and that in-house licensed engineers oversee each project. Its warranty page promises a lifetime workmanship warranty that covers roof penetrations, though one paragraph on the same page says “up to 20 years.” Ask for the written warranty, and check who owns the system if you choose a lease.

Why choose 8MSolar, and why you might not
What 8MSolar does well, and where to be careful, compared with the installers it competes with most.
Reasons to choose 8MSolar
It lets you choose from many brands8MSolar says it does not stick to one brand. It names Qcells, REC, Silfab and Canadian Solar panels, and Tesla, Enphase and Franklin batteries. Of the three alternatives below, Renu and Creative Solar also name several brands.
Its work warranty covers roof leaks tooIts warranty page says the warranty on its own work also covers leaks where the panels are bolted to the roof. Palmetto lists 5 years for roof leaks. Renu and Creative Solar list none.
It has a prepaid plan, tooYou can buy, take a loan, rent the panels, or take a PPA (you pay for the power; the company owns the panels). You can also pay once upfront with a prepaid plan. Of the three alternatives below, only Renu lists one too.
Its own engineers oversee each job8MSolar says licensed engineers on its own staff oversee each project. It also says its installers hold a national solar certification. We did not check these claims.
Reasons to look at others
Its warranty page gives two answersOne part of its warranty page says its work warranty lasts a lifetime. Another part says up to 20 years. It publishes no written terms. Ask for the warranty in writing, and ask if it carries over when you sell.
Rent and PPA plans come from another companyIts rent and PPA plans run through LightReach, a Palmetto program, for 25 years. Some of these raise the price each year. It does not name its loan lender. Ask who owns the panels and who you will pay.
Some owners report broken equipment and no callbacksIts negative reviews describe failed inverters (the box that turns solar power into home power) and unanswered calls. Two say the system was much smaller than promised. Ask who handles repairs, and check the system size in your quote.
It shows license numbers for one state only8MSolar publishes no license numbers for South Carolina or Virginia. One of its North Carolina licenses showed inactive when we checked on October 13, 2026. Ask for the license that covers your address.
8MSolar reviews: what customers say
We found no Google or Trustpilot reviews for 8MSolar when we checked in October 2026. Ask the company for references from recent customers in your area.
How much does 8MSolar cost?
8MSolar does not publish a system price on the pages we reviewed; its homepage advertises discounts without a base price. Ask for an itemized quote showing the cash price, system size and equipment models, and for a loan, the financed total with APR and fees. For a prepaid lease, ask for the full agreement, including any buyout terms. For state price ranges, see our solar panel cost guide; for how the plans compare, see loans, leases and PPAs.

8MSolar says it is equipment agnostic. Its equipment page names Qcells, Axitec, REC, Silfab and Canadian Solar panels; Tesla, SMA, Enphase and SolarEdge inverters; and its menu lists Tesla Powerwall, Franklin aPower2 and Enphase batteries. Its about page says it uses Pegasus Solar racking. Your written proposal should list the exact panel, inverter and battery models, the system size in kilowatts (kW) and the forecast yearly production in kilowatt-hours (kWh).
What does 8MSolar’s warranty cover?
Coverage | What 8MSolar publishes | What to confirm |
|---|---|---|
Solar panels | Maker’s warranty; varies by brand | Which panel you get and its maker’s term. The equipment page describes Qcells at 25 years and Silfab and Axitec at 30 years. |
Panel output | 25 years, 92% guaranteed output (per its FAQ) | That this output guarantee applies to the panel model in your proposal. |
Inverter | Maker’s warranty; 12.5 to 25 years depending on the model, per its warranty page | The inverter model, its maker’s exact term and who pays labor to replace it. |
Battery | Not published | Confirm in your proposal: the battery maker’s term and who services it. |
Labor and workmanship | Lifetime (per the FAQ on its warranty page; another paragraph there says “up to 20 years”) | Confirm in your proposal: the written workmanship term, what it excludes and whether it transfers. |
Roof penetrations | Lifetime; covered by the workmanship warranty, per its warranty page | Confirm in your proposal: who repairs and pays if a leak starts at a panel mount. |
Company-published terms from 8MSolar’s about page, FAQ and equipment page, read October 13, 2026, and its warranty page, read October 14, 2026. Your signed agreement decides what applies.
Its warranty page also lists a 25-year mounting and racking warranty and says its in-house service team files equipment warranty claims with the maker. Its residential page says loan customers “may qualify for warranty through lender to pay for maintenance”; ask which company holds that coverage.
Where does 8MSolar operate, and which licenses were checked?
8MSolar’s service area page lists cities across North Carolina, from Raleigh, Durham and Cary to Charlotte, Greensboro and Wilmington, plus Virginia Beach, VA, and says not all locations are listed (read October 13, 2026). Its South Carolina page offers residential installs there. A listed city does not mean every address qualifies or that EcoGen can connect you with 8MSolar there.
