Is 512 Solar a good choice?

512 Solar fits Texas homeowners, especially Austin Energy customers, who want a small owner-led installer. It says it is an Austin Energy participating contractor and gives a 10-year workmanship warranty in writing. It also repairs systems other companies installed. It lists no payment plans and no license number on its site, so ask for both, plus the exact equipment models, before you sign.

The five positive reviews below praise quick, knowledgeable responses and clear guidance, one owner reports the company has stayed reliable since a 2010 install, and two describe repairs on systems whose original installer had gone out of business. There were no negative reviews among the reviews we read. Positive reviews alone do not show how a company handles problems. Ask 512 Solar who handles warranty claims after installation and how quickly it schedules service visits.

How we picked these: the five newest 5-star and the five newest 1- or 2-star reviews with written text on Google and Trustpilot, as of October 2026 (200 reviews read, back to Dec 6, 2024). We found no Trustpilot page for 512 Solar on October 12, 2026. Each quote is one sentence, word for word. Picking the highest and lowest ratings shows the range of experiences; it is not a representative sample, and we did not verify what reviewers describe.

How much does 512 Solar cost?

512 Solar does not publish a system price on the pages we reviewed. Ask for an itemized quote with the cash price, system size, equipment models and forecast production. Its incentives page says the quote shows the system price and any incentives as separate lines; ask that it does. For state price ranges, see our solar panel cost guide; for how the plans compare, see loans, leases and PPAs.

Payment options not listed

Ask who owns it

The site lists no loan, lease or PPA. Its incentives page says that under a lease or PPA you do not own the array. Ask which plans it offers and who owns the system under each.

No payment plans are listed on 512 Solar’s homepage, residential page or incentives page, read October 13, 2026.

512 Solar does not say which panel, inverter or battery brands it installs. Its homepage says its installers hold NABCEP PV Installation Professional certification and that it is certified on Tesla Energy, Enphase and SolarEdge equipment. It also services systems it did not install, on any brand. Your written proposal should list the exact panel, inverter and battery models, the system size in kilowatts (kW) and the forecast yearly production in kilowatt-hours (kWh).
