Sol Luna Solar Review

Solar, battery and EV charger installerBased in Dixon and Albuquerque, New MexicoProfile updated October 13, 2026

Is Sol Luna Solar a good choice?

Sol Luna Solar fits northern and central New Mexico homeowners who want a local, women-owned installer with construction and electrical licenses under one roof. It publishes New Mexico license #33662 and says its crews are employees, not subcontractors. It mentions a workmanship warranty but publishes no term, so get the length and coverage, including roof penetrations, in writing.

Why choose Sol Luna Solar, and why you might not

What Sol Luna does well, and where to be careful, compared with the installers it competes with most.

Reasons to choose Sol Luna

  • Its own employees do the workSol Luna says its crews work for the company, not for another firm. It says each job has a crew leader with a national solar certification and a licensed electrician.

  • It holds building and electrical licensesSol Luna says it holds both building and electrical licenses. It prints its New Mexico license number, 33662, on its site. You can check it with the state.

  • It watches your system for 25 yearsSol Luna says it checks how much power your system makes for 25 years, at no charge. Ask what it does if the numbers drop.

  • You pay the rest at the endSol Luna says it keeps the upfront payment low and takes a final payment when the job is done. Ask for the payment steps in writing.

Reasons to look at others

  • Its work warranty has no set lengthSol Luna says it offers a warranty on its own work but gives no length. Positive Energy and Solar Smart Living list 30 years. Ask Sol Luna for its term in writing.

  • No roof leak or equipment warranty listedIt lists no warranty for leaks where the panels are bolted to the roof. It names no panel or battery brands and lists no equipment warranty. Ask for each one in writing.

  • It does not name its lendersYou can pay cash or take a loan from partner lenders it does not name. It lists no rent or PPA plan. Ask who the lender is and what the terms are.

  • Few owners have reviewed itIts Google listing shows 5 from only 4 reviews. The two reviews we read are from 2022 and 2024. Ask who takes service calls after the install and how fast they respond.

Sol Luna Solar reviews: what customers say

Each review site shows its own score; we read them on October 12 and 13, 2026 and do not combine them or add our own rating.

  • Google5 / 54 reviews · Dixon, NM office listing only, not company-wideRead reviews

Only two positive reviews were among those we read: one praises quality equipment and careful work, and the other describes a clean one-and-a-half-day install and a complete state tax benefit application prepared by the company. There were no negative reviews among the reviews we read, and both reviews date from 2022 and 2024. Positive reviews alone do not show how a company handles problems. Ask Sol Luna who handles service calls after installation and how quickly it responds.

How we picked these: the five newest 5-star and the five newest 1- or 2-star reviews with written text on Google and Trustpilot, as of October 2026 (4 reviews read, back to Jun 12, 2022). We found no Trustpilot page for Sol Luna Solar on October 12, 2026. Each quote is one sentence, word for word. Picking the highest and lowest ratings shows the range of experiences; it is not a representative sample, and we did not verify what reviewers describe.

How much does Sol Luna Solar cost?

Sol Luna Solar does not publish a system price on the pages we reviewed. Ask for an itemized quote showing the cash price, system size, equipment models and, if you finance, the financed total with APR and fees. Some of its pages still mention the 30% federal tax credit; that credit ended for homeowner-owned systems placed in service after December 31, 2025. For state price ranges, see our solar panel cost guide; for how the plans compare, see loans, leases and PPAs.

Cash purchase

You own it

Paid by cash, check or major credit card. The company says it keeps up-front costs low and takes a final payment at the end.

Solar loan

You own it

Low-interest and local financing through partner lenders, which the company does not name.

Plans as listed on Sol Luna’s financing and ownership page, read October 13, 2026. No lease or PPA is listed.

Sol Luna says it installs only tier 1 modules, inverters and racking, and its equipment page describes module-level inverter systems with a SolarEdge video. It names no panel or battery brand. Your written proposal should list the exact panel, inverter and battery models, the system size in kilowatts (kW) and the forecast yearly production in kilowatt-hours (kWh). The company says it includes 25 years of free performance monitoring and keeps at least one NABCEP crew leader and a licensed journeyman electrician on each job (why choose us).

The company says it will work with manufacturers on warranty claims; its 25-year free monitoring package is a service, not a warranty.

Sol Luna’s homepage lists Albuquerque, Abiquiu, Belen, Bernalillo, Corrales, Dixon, Eldorado, Espanola, Las Vegas, Los Alamos, Placitas, Rio Rancho, Santa Fe, Tijeras and Taos, and its contact page says it serves most urban and rural communities in New Mexico (read October 13, 2026).
