Renewable Solutions (RES) Review
Solar, battery, geothermal, wind and electrical companyFormerly Renewable Energy Systems of AlaskaOffices in Anchorage, Fairbanks and Palmer, AlaskaProfile updated October 14, 2026
Is Renewable Solutions (RES) a good choice?
RES fits Alaskans who need grid-tied, off-grid or hybrid systems, including cabins and remote sites, and buyers who want kits they can install themselves. It says it was founded in 2006 as Renewable Energy Systems of Alaska, joined The Aleut Corporation in 2025 and took the RES name in 2026. Its pages publish no warranty terms and no license number. Ask for both, and for the loan terms, in writing. Alaska’s corporations register shows the business now runs as Renewable Energy Systems LLC, owned by Aleut Energy LLC (formed March 17, 2026; Alaska Division of Corporations), and the older RES Alaska Inc. was dissolved on September 9, 2026.

Why choose Renewable Solutions (RES), and why you might not
What RES does well, and where to be careful, compared with the installers it competes with most.
Reasons to choose RES
It handles cabins and remote sitesRES builds systems tied to the power grid, off-grid systems, and mixes of both with batteries and a generator. It says it serves all of Alaska, including more than 200 rural communities.
You can buy a kit and do it yourselfRES sells kits you can put in yourself, and its online store lists Enphase and Canadian Solar products. If you do the work, there is no warranty on an installer’s work. Ask what the equipment warranties require.
It has offices in three townsRES has offices in Anchorage, Fairbanks and Palmer. It says it was founded in 2006 and has its own licensed electricians.
It lists two ways to payRES lists buying the system or taking a solar loan. Alaska Solar lists no way to pay. Ask RES who the lender is and for the loan terms in writing.
Reasons to look at others
It lists no warranty at allRES publishes no warranty on panels, batteries, its own work, or leaks where the panels are bolted to the roof. Alaska Solar and Susitna publish none either. Get every warranty in writing before you sign.
It shows no license numberRES prints no Alaska contractor or electrical license number. Alaska Solar prints its number. Ask RES for its numbers and check them with the state.
Its owner and name changedRES joined The Aleut Corporation in 2025 and took the RES name in 2026. The state register shows the business now runs as a new company, and the old one closed in September 2026. Ask which company signs your contract.
