Earthlight Technologies Review

Solar, battery, roofing and EV charging installerBased in Ellington, ConnecticutProfile updated October 13, 2026

Is Earthlight Technologies a good choice?

Earthlight fits homeowners in Connecticut, Western and Central Massachusetts and Oregon’s Willamette Valley who want one company for solar, batteries and roof work. It says it was founded in 2008 and uses in-house crews, and its service page publishes a 12-year workmanship warranty that includes roof penetrations. It names no panel brand, and its FAQ and payment page differ on which plans homeowners can use, so confirm both.

Why choose Earthlight Technologies, and why you might not

What Earthlight does well, and where to be careful, compared with the installers it competes with most.

Reasons to choose Earthlight

  • It does your roof tooEarthlight puts in solar, batteries and EV chargers, and also does roof work. Of the three alternatives below, only Trinity also does roofing.

  • Its work and roof leaks are covered 12 yearsIts service page lists 12 years on its own work, and that includes leaks where the panels are bolted to the roof. Trinity lists 10 years if you pay upfront. Ask to see the 12 years in your contract.

  • Its licenses check out in all three statesEarthlight’s licenses in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Oregon were active when we checked in September and October 2026. It says it has used its own crews since 2008.

  • Owners praise its crewsIts head-office Google listing shows 5 from 568 reviews. Its good reviews praise clear updates, respectful crews and small problems fixed quickly.

Reasons to look at others

  • It names no panel brandEarthlight names no panel brand. It says it is certified to put in Tesla Powerwall and FranklinWH batteries. Ask for the exact panel and inverter models in your written quote.

  • Its pages disagree on how you can payIts payment page lists buying, a loan, renting and a PPA (you pay for the power; the company owns the panels). Its FAQ lists only renting and PPAs. It names no lender. Ask which plans you can get.

  • No battery or output warranty listedEarthlight lists no warranty for batteries or for how much power the panels make. Ask for each warranty in writing before you sign.

  • One review describes a late installWe found no negative reviews among those we read. One good review still describes an install that finished three months late. Ask how long the install and getting turned on by the power company usually take.

Earthlight Technologies reviews: what customers say

Each review site shows its own score; we read them on October 12 and 13, 2026 and do not combine them or add our own rating.

  • Google5 / 5568 reviews · Ellington, CT office listing only, not company-wideRead reviews

The five positive reviews below praise good communication, meticulous and respectful crews, a one-day installation and a small early issue fixed quickly, though one of them first describes an install that finished three months late and confusion over electric bills before an owner resolved it. There were no negative reviews among the reviews we read. Positive reviews alone do not show how a company handles problems. Ask Earthlight how long installation and utility approval usually take and what your first electric bills will look like.

How we picked these: the five newest 5-star and the five newest 1- or 2-star reviews with written text on Google and Trustpilot, as of October 2026 (200 reviews read, back to Jul 29, 2025). We found no Trustpilot page for Earthlight Technologies on October 12, 2026. Each quote is one sentence, word for word. Picking the highest and lowest ratings shows the range of experiences; it is not a representative sample, and we did not verify what reviewers describe.

How much does Earthlight Technologies cost?

Earthlight does not publish a system price on the pages we reviewed; it says the free consultation covers estimated production, savings and payback. Ask for an itemized quote showing the cash price, system size, equipment models and, if you finance, the financed total with APR and fees. It says it offers a discount for veterans and first responders. For state price ranges, see our solar panel cost guide; for how the plans compare, see loans, leases and PPAs.

Solar loan

Plans as listed on Earthlight’s financing page, read October 13, 2026. Its FAQ mentions only PPAs and leases for homeowners.

Earthlight does not name a panel brand on the pages we read. Its FAQ says it is a certified Tesla Powerwall and FranklinWH battery installer, and its service page says residential systems typically report through Enphase monitoring. Your written proposal should list the exact panel, inverter and battery models, the system size in kilowatts (kW) and the forecast yearly production in kilowatt-hours (kWh). Earthlight also does roofing, off-grid systems and EV chargers.

Where does Earthlight Technologies operate, and which licenses were checked?

Earthlight’s state pages say it serves homes and businesses across Connecticut, Western and Central Massachusetts, and the Willamette Valley and nearby Oregon communities (read October 13, 2026). Its FAQ adds Rhode Island and Eastern New York for commercial work only. A listed state does not mean every address qualifies or that EcoGen can connect you with Earthlight there.

Licenses

We found 5 active license records in state registries (October 13, 2026, September 7, 2026). Check the license yourself under the exact business name on your contract. A license check confirms registration, not workmanship quality.

How we researched this profile

We read Earthlight’s own pages on October 13, 2026: homepage, about, residential solar, financing, FAQ, service and the Connecticut, Massachusetts and Oregon pages. The CT and OR license results are from registry checks on September 7 and 8, 2026. We did not buy a system, request a quote, visit an office or interview customers. Earthlight did not review this page.

Our installer methodology explains what we check.
