It names the batteries it puts inCurrent Electric names Franklin, Generac and Tesla home batteries. These are batteries that keep some power on in an outage.
You can buy, borrow or rentIt lists buying, financing and renting the panels. None of the three alternatives below lists a way to rent. Ask who owns rented panels and who fixes them.
Reasons to look at others

It prints no license numberIts site says it uses licensed electricians, but it shows no license number. Ask for the number and check it with the state before you sign.
Its loan and rent terms are not listedIts financing page lists 0% financing through Synchrony, but not for solar in particular. Its rent plan has no terms. Ask who you will pay, and for how long.

The five positive reviews below praise clean, professional panel and service upgrades at fair prices, and one solar owner reports a project finished on time and on budget. The four negative reviews describe a solar owner quoted 480 dollars just for a service visit, slow callbacks, a generator diagnosis another electrician reportedly fixed in minutes, and retail wiring that had to be redone. These are issues to ask about, not a measure of how often they happen. Ask Current Electric what service visits cost after installation.

How we picked these: the five newest 5-star and the five newest 1- or 2-star reviews with written text on Google and Trustpilot, as of October 2026 (10 reviews read, back to Sep 9, 2025). We found no Trustpilot page for Current Electric on October 12, 2026. Its Google listing is mainly for other trades, so we only used reviews that mention solar. Each quote is one sentence, word for word. Picking the highest and lowest ratings shows the range of experiences; it is not a representative sample, and we did not verify what reviewers describe.
How much does Current Electric cost?
Current Electric does not publish a system price. Its solar page has an online estimator that it says gives a range, not a quote. Ask for an itemized quote with the cash price, system size, equipment models and, for any financing, the full financed total with APR and fees. For state price ranges, see our solar panel cost guide; for how the plans compare, see loans, leases and PPAs.

Ask who owns itNamed as an option in its solar estimator with no terms. Ask who owns the system and who handles repairs.
Plans as listed on Current Electric’s financing page and the estimator on its solar page, read October 13, 2026.
Current Electric names Franklin Whole Home, Generac PWRcell and Tesla Powerwall batteries on its battery backup page. It names no panel or inverter brand on the pages we read. Your written proposal should list the exact panel, inverter and battery models, the system size in kilowatts (kW) and the forecast yearly production in kilowatt-hours (kWh).

Where does Current Electric operate, and which licenses were checked?
Current Electric’s homepage says it serves southeastern Wisconsin: Milwaukee, Waukesha, Ozaukee, Washington, Racine, Kenosha and Walworth counties (read October 13, 2026). It names cities including Milwaukee, Wauwatosa, Brookfield, Mequon, West Allis, Oak Creek, Racine and Kenosha. The list covers all its services, not solar alone. Its claimed Google Business listing (checked October 14, 2026) gives the same Wauwatosa address as the site footer, 2942 N. 117th St. A listed county does not mean every address qualifies or that EcoGen can connect you with Current Electric there.

Licenses
We have not checked Current Electric’s licenses in a state registry yet, and its website does not list license numbers we could match. Check the license yourself under the exact business name on your contract. A license check confirms registration, not workmanship quality.

How we researched this profile
We read Current Electric’s own pages on October 13, 2026: homepage, residential solar, battery backup, financing, about, contact and terms. On October 14, 2026 its site answered with a bot check, so we checked its claimed Google Business listing instead; the Wisconsin business search also blocked automated access. We did not buy a system, request a quote, visit an office or interview customers. Current Electric did not review this page.
Our installer methodology explains what we check.
