YellowLite Review
Solar and battery installerBased in Cleveland, OhioProfile updated October 14, 2026
Is YellowLite a good choice?
YellowLite fits Ohio homeowners who want a long-running installer with offices in Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati and both loan and lease options. It says it was established in 2009 and is a Tesla certified and FranklinWH battery installer. Its financing page names Sunnova as its lease partner. For purchases, its FAQ guarantees the installation for 10 years but gives no roof leak term, so get both in writing and ask who your current lease provider is.

Why choose YellowLite, and why you might not
What YellowLite does well, and where to be careful, compared with the installers it competes with most.
Reasons to choose YellowLite
It guarantees its install for 10 yearsIf you buy, YellowLite guarantees its install for 10 years after the system is turned on. Palmetto and Rectify also list 10 years. Solar Energy Solutions lists no term.
It names its equipment brandsYellowLite names SunPower, Canadian Solar and Silfab panels, and FranklinWH and Tesla batteries. It lists 10 years for the Tesla battery warranty and 15 for FranklinWH. You can look them up before you sign.
It has three offices in OhioYellowLite has offices in Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati. It says it was founded in 2009. Its Ohio license was active when we checked on October 13, 2026.
It names its loan partnerYellowLite names Clean Energy Credit Union for loans of up to 20 years with no money down. It also mentions bank loans, home equity lines and an Ohio state loan program.
Reasons to look at others
No roof leak warranty if you buyIf you buy, YellowLite lists no warranty for leaks where the panels are bolted to the roof. Palmetto lists 5 years. Ask what its 10-year install guarantee covers, and get it in writing.
Its rent plan runs through another companyIts financing page names Sunnova as its rent partner. We could not confirm that is still true. Ask which company you will pay, who owns the panels, and who handles repairs.
Your installer may be a partner companyYellowLite says it uses partner installers outside Ohio. We found no YellowLite license in Michigan or Indiana. Ask whether YellowLite’s own crew will do your install.
Some owners report slow repairsIts negative reviews describe two broken inverters (the box that turns solar power into home power) with slow service. Others describe panels left off for months after a roof job. Ask what removing and putting back panels costs.
YellowLite reviews: what customers say
We found no Google or Trustpilot reviews for YellowLite when we checked in October 2026. Ask the company for references from recent customers in your area.
How much does YellowLite cost?
YellowLite asks for your address to prepare a custom quote; its homepage FAQ gives only a general Ohio cost range, which we do not repeat. Ask for an itemized quote showing the cash price, system size, equipment models and, if you finance, the APR, fees and financed total. For a lease, ask for the monthly payment, any escalator and which company owns the system. For state price ranges, see our solar panel cost guide; for how the plans compare, see loans, leases and PPAs.

YellowLite’s solar panel page names SunPower, Canadian Solar and Silfab among its popular panel brands. Its menu lists FranklinWH batteries and Tesla Powerwall, and it calls itself a Tesla certified premier installer. Your written proposal should list the exact panel, inverter and battery models, the system size in kilowatts (kW) and the forecast yearly production in kilowatt-hours (kWh).

Where does YellowLite operate, and which licenses were checked?
YellowLite’s coverage page says it serves all of Ohio and works in four states: Ohio, Indiana and Pennsylvania for homes and businesses, and Michigan for commercial solar (read October 13, 2026). Its homepage says it has certified installation partners in those states, so ask whether your installer is YellowLite’s own crew. A listed state does not mean every address qualifies or that EcoGen can connect you with YellowLite there.

Licenses
We found 1 active license record in state registries (October 13, 2026). We found no record under its name in Michigan; ask for the license number. Indiana licenses this work through individuals or local permits, not a company license; ask for the license holder’s number. Check the license yourself under the exact business name on your contract. A license check confirms registration, not workmanship quality.

How we researched this profile
We read YellowLite’s own pages on October 13, 2026: homepage, about, coverage, solar financing, solar leasing, solar panels, FAQs and contact. On October 14, 2026 we read its getting started FAQ, energy storage, FranklinWH, offers, residential and state coverage pages, and looked up its Google Business listing. The Ohio business registry was down for maintenance. We did not check its licenses in a registry. We did not buy a system, request a quote, visit an office or interview customers. YellowLite did not review this page.
Our installer methodology explains what we check.
