Wind & Solar World Review

Solar, wind and battery installerBased in Upham, North DakotaProfile updated October 14, 2026

Is Wind & Solar World a good choice?

Wind & Solar World fits rural North Dakota homeowners, farms and businesses, and some in South Dakota and Montana, who want solar, small wind or off-grid backup from a family-owned local company. It says it has worked since 2007 and helps farms apply for USDA REAP grants. It publishes no workmanship warranty or license number, and its incentive pages are out of date, so get warranty terms and current incentives in writing.

Why choose Wind & Solar World, and why you might not

What Wind & Solar World does well, and where to be careful, compared with the installers it competes with most.

Reasons to choose Wind & Solar World

  • It does wind power tooWind & Solar World puts in small wind turbines as well as solar. It also builds systems for homes with no power line. None of the three alternatives below lists wind.

  • It names its panel brandsIt names Silfab as its first choice, plus Canadian Solar and Enphase. It says it prefers panels made in the US. It also sells Generac batteries.

  • It helps farms apply for grantsIt says it helps farms apply for USDA REAP grants. Ask if your farm could qualify and what help it gives with the paperwork.

  • It is a family company working since 2007It says it is family-owned and has worked since 2007. It installs across North Dakota, from Fargo to Williston.

Reasons to look at others

  • It lists no warranty on its own workIt publishes no warranty on its own work or for leaks where the panels are bolted to the roof. Wolf River lists 25 years for both. Get every warranty in writing before you sign.

  • We found no North Dakota licenseWe searched North Dakota’s license lists on October 13, 2026 and found no contractor license. It prints no South Dakota or Montana number. Ask for each license and check it.

  • Its PPA has few detailsIt says a PPA (you pay for the power; another company owns the panels) is available, but gives no details. It does not name its home lender. Ask who owns the panels and for the full terms.

  • We found no reviews to readWe found no Google listing, so we could not read owner reviews. Some of its pages about incentives are out of date. Ask for current figures in writing.

How much does Wind & Solar World cost?

Wind & Solar World publishes rough system cost ranges by monthly electric bill on its estimated costs page, not a price for your home. Ask for an itemized quote with the cash price, system size, equipment models and forecast production. That page describes a federal tax credit for homeowners that ended for systems placed in service after December 31, 2025; confirm any incentive in writing. For state price ranges, see our solar panel cost guide; for how the plans compare, see loans, leases and PPAs.
