GenPro Energy Solutions Review
Commercial and utility solar contractor (EPC)Based in Piedmont, South DakotaProfile updated October 14, 2026
Is GenPro Energy Solutions a good choice?
GenPro now presents itself as a solar engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) firm for developers, farms, towns, utilities and businesses. Its site lists no home solar service, though its project gallery still has a residential filter and it has posted a review from an off-grid home customer. Homeowners in the Black Hills should first ask whether it takes residential jobs, and then get warranty and payment terms in writing.

Why choose GenPro Energy Solutions, and why you might not
What GenPro does well, and where to be careful, compared with the installers it competes with most.
Reasons to choose GenPro
It builds large solar projectsGenPro builds solar for farms, towns, power companies and businesses. It also lists battery storage and small local power grids. If you own a farm or business, ask about that work.
It has done some off-grid homesGenPro has posted a review from an off-grid home owner. Its good reviews praise fair prices without pushy sales, help with a remote solar pump, and an install done on time.
Its business is in good standingSouth Dakota business records list GenPro as in good standing when we checked on October 14, 2026. The company says it employs people with a national solar certification. We did not check that.
Reasons to look at others
It may no longer do homesGenPro’s site lists no home solar service. Its work is mostly for farms, towns and businesses. Ask first whether it takes home jobs at your address.
It lists no warranty at allGenPro publishes no warranty on the panels, on its own work, or for leaks where the panels are bolted to the roof. Wolf River lists 25 years for both. Get every warranty in writing.
It names no brands and no way to payIts site names no panel, inverter or battery brand, and no license number. It lists no cash, loan, rent or PPA plan. Ask for all of these in your written quote.
Some owners waited a long time for repairsIts negative reviews describe repairs that waited nearly two years. One owner says battery and wiring problems were refused as out of warranty. Ask what its warranty on its own work covers, and for how long.

The five positive reviews below praise fair prices without pushy sales, help with a remote solar pump, an on-time, on-budget install and a wind turbine replaced by solar in one day. The four negative reviews describe repairs waiting nearly two years, battery and wiring problems one owner says were refused as out of warranty, a system that never worked right for a later owner and one short complaint. These are issues to ask about, not a measure of how often they happen. Ask GenPro what its workmanship warranty covers.

How we picked these: the five newest 5-star and the five newest 1- or 2-star reviews with written text on Google and Trustpilot, as of October 2026 (41 reviews read, back to Nov 23, 2017). We found no Trustpilot page for GenPro Energy Solutions on October 12, 2026. Each quote is one sentence, word for word. Picking the highest and lowest ratings shows the range of experiences; it is not a representative sample, and we did not verify what reviewers describe.
How much does GenPro Energy Solutions cost?
GenPro does not publish a system price on the pages we reviewed; its homepage promises “transparent pricing” for project clients without figures. Ask for an itemized quote showing the cash price, system size, equipment models and forecast yearly production. For state price ranges, see our solar panel cost guide; for how the plans compare, see loans, leases and PPAs.
Payment options not published
Ask who owns itThe site lists no cash, loan, lease or PPA options for homeowners. Ask which plans it offers and who would own the system.
No payment plans appear on GenPro’s homepage, about page or service pages, read October 13, 2026.
GenPro does not name panel, inverter or battery brands on the pages we read. Its procurement page says it buys Tier 1 panels without naming a maker. It lists design, procurement, electrical, civil work, battery storage, microgrids and commissioning as its services (homepage). Your written proposal should list the exact panel, inverter and battery models, the system size in kilowatts (kW) and the forecast yearly production in kilowatt-hours (kWh).

GenPro has no warranty page. We read its homepage, about, safety and project pages on October 13, 2026. Your signed agreement decides what applies.
GenPro’s Gold Standard page (read October 14, 2026) says it will repair or replace a system at no cost if it installs the wrong technology. It gives no term or scope, so it is not a written workmanship warranty.
Where does GenPro Energy Solutions operate, and which licenses were checked?
GenPro’s about page says it is headquartered in Piedmont, South Dakota and serves “communities across the U.S. and beyond” (read October 13, 2026). Its project gallery shows mostly commercial, community and utility work in Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas and Illinois. It does not publish a residential service area. South Dakota business records list GENPRO ENERGY SOLUTIONS, LLC as a domestic LLC in good standing, with its head office in Piedmont and registrations in several other states (OpenCorporates summary of South Dakota Secretary of State data, checked October 14, 2026). A listed state does not mean every address qualifies or that EcoGen can connect you with GenPro there.

Licenses
We have not checked GenPro’s licenses in a state registry yet, and its website does not list license numbers we could match. Check the license yourself under the exact business name on your contract. A license check confirms registration, not workmanship quality.

How we researched this profile
We read GenPro’s own pages on October 13, 2026: homepage, about, safety and certifications, Illinois Shines, projects and a residential customer review post. On October 14, 2026 we also read its procurement, Gold Standard, battery storage and contact pages, its South Dakota business record (through OpenCorporates; the state search sits behind a captcha) and its Google Business listing. We did not check its licenses in a state registry. We did not buy a system, request a quote, visit an office or interview customers. GenPro did not review this page.
Our installer methodology explains what we check.
