Caesars Solar Canopies A Sure Bet for Clean Energy in Atlantic CityAtlantic City, NJ – Two Caesars Atlantic City casinos have introduced solar garage canopies with a combined annual clean energy production of approximately 8.29 megawatt hours (MWh). DSD Renewables, a solar developer, has implemented a 6.5 MW solar portfolio across four canopies for Caesars Entertainment at two of its three Atlantic City casinos.

Specifically, Caesars Atlantic City now boasts solar garage canopies with capacities of 1.7 MW and 886 kW, while Harrah's Resort Atlantic City has a 1.9 MW solar canopy at both its self-park and valet garages. Additionally, DSD is scheduled to install a 913 kW solar rooftop system at Harrah's Waterfront Conference Center in early 2024.

As one of Atlantic City Electric's major power consumers, Caesars' solar projects will offset approximately 6% of its energy requirements. These canopies offer shaded parking for staff and visitors, reduce snow removal expenses, and the rooftop system prolongs the roof's lifespan while curbing cooling needs by limiting UV exposure.

Notably, due to their proximity to the Atlantic Ocean, DSD's in-house canopy team had to engineer custom designs that could withstand elevated wind loads and increased risk factors. The structural connections of the solar arrays are designed to support both the steel and electrical solar systems while withstanding storms.

DSD has both financed and developed Caesars' solar installations and will remain their long-term owner and operator. Caesars Entertainment is committed to achieving a net-zero goal by 2050.

On a smaller scale, you can be making a difference by switching to solar.
